Privacy Policy

Skillix is a mobile learning application that helps users transform knowledge sources (text, documents, and images) into AI-generated tests and flashcards. The app is available on Android (Google Play) and is operated by the Skillix team.

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication and account recovery.
• Full name (optional) — displayed in your profile.

We use Supabase Authentication to manage accounts securely. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

2.2 User-Generated Content

To provide the core learning features, you may upload:

• Text — pasted directly into the app.
• Documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT) — imported from your device.
• Images (JPEG, PNG) — captured with your camera or imported from your photo library.

This content is stored in your personal knowledge base on our servers (Supabase) and is used exclusively to generate your learning materials.

2.3 Learning Activity Data

We store:

• Your test results and scores.
• Your daily test streak and completion history.
• Per-question performance statistics (to improve your adaptive learning experience).

2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

• Device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, advertising ID).
• Location data.
• Contact lists or other device data.
• Microphone audio.

The app requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to add an image or document to your knowledge base.

• Camera — used to capture a photo of a document or image you want to study.
• Photo library — used to import an existing image from your device.

We never access your camera or photos without your explicit action. Images you capture or import are uploaded to your personal Supabase storage bucket and are not used for any purpose other than generating your learning content.

Your uploaded content is sent to OpenAI's AI services via our secure server-side functions to generate questions, flashcards, and summaries. This processing happens on our backend (Supabase Edge Functions) — your raw content is never sent directly from your device to OpenAI.

OpenAI may retain submitted content for a limited period in accordance with their data usage policies. We do not use your content to train AI models.

• All data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure).
• All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• Access to your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies — only you can access your own data.
• API keys and server secrets are never exposed in the mobile app.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

We share data only with:

• Supabase — our backend infrastructure provider (database, storage, authentication).
• OpenAI — for AI content processing (see Section 5).

Both providers are bound by their respective data processing agreements and privacy policies.

• Your account data is retained as long as your account is active.
• You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Deleted data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Skillix is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@skillix.tech and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten).
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
